The only time suffering ever arises is when we resist what is!
How can you change what is?
Yet we spend over ninety percent of our time trying to change or resist what is. Can’t you see the futility of it?
It is like the grain of sand trying to resist and stop the tide coming in and thinking it’s the end of the world when the tide goes out. Has spending your life resisting or trying to change what is and trying to bend life to your terms or version worked? If so then great, keep it up my friend. But if not why not bask in what is for one single day! See if it does not change your life.
Let go of it all dear one, let go of a way and world that doesn’t support you and lie back and bask in what is, then you shall float on the ocean of life and you shall see how supported you truly are. Lie back and enjoy the movie, it’s going to happen anyway! And you have a front row seat, so you may as well enjoy it while you are here and in the seat. Savour every breath and moment, for you will miss it when you leave the theatre.
Resist nothing dear one, to resist is to mistakenly take yourself for form. Solid form resists, but your true essence is infinite, formless empty space. Do not confuse yourself for what is appearing within you, ‘empty your mind, be formless, shapeless – like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; you put water in the bottle it becomes the bottle; you put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash.’ Bruce Lee.
Now go off and bask in what is and remember don’t try to resist or change a thing, for you can’t change what is. The moment you think about it it’s already gone anyway, on to the next what is. Stop trying to catch and change space and air with a fishing net; while you look hilariously funny at times, I assure you its futile! Forget everything I just said, it’s gone now and if you did remember it would be as futile as the fishing net trying to bring what was into what is!
Don t you see, in everything you are doing you are missing and trying to escape what is and thus the beautiful perfect bounty the present moment. But don’t even try to put a label or name on it, for it is futile to explain or capture what is, as the moment you try to so it’s already gone. To do so is to talk about a nonexistent reality based on the past, whether its one second ago or one year ago, it’s gone and only exists as ghost in your memory. Are you going to allow yourself to be continually haunted by ghosts of thought and memory? Who have no power or independent existence of their own and whose mere survival depends on your energy, focus and attention. Let yourself merge fully with, experience and become the Now, without labels or concepts. This is the eternal rebirth; to let yourself die and be reborn again every single now. Perhaps this is the best way to enter heaven while still on earth? ‘Truly, truly I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.’ Jesus
What if the kingdom of God is right here before our very eyes? Always! And we cannot see it because we are blinded by the past and future and our unwillingness to die to the story to which we hold so dear.
‘Neo: Why do my eyes hurt?
Morpheus: You’ve never used them before.’ Matrix
Resist thee not the freedom that rests in the eternal isness of now and thy shall know thyself.
